The Salish Sea Trail links the South Island's best rail trails, the Lochside, the Galloping Goose, and the Cowichan Valley Trail, into one big 175 km loop with a Salt Spring Island ferry hop in the middle. Most of it is calm rail-trail riding through forest and farmland; the road stretches through wine country roll and climb a bit more. Ride a 15 km piece, or take a few days and go all the way around.
