This site runs on generosity. Much of what you see here, the trails, the maps, the data, the hosting, exists because people and organizations chose to share their work openly, so others could build on it.
Every trail on this site exists because someone builds and maintains it, usually a volunteer trail society working with hand tools and small budgets. If you ride these trails, support the trail organizations.

Riding in BC keeps getting better because bike advocacy organizations have spent decades building bike-friendly culture, laws, and infrastructure. Thank you to the BC Cycling Coalition, HUB Cycling, GoByBike BC, and the many local groups doing this work in their own communities.
The foundation of this site. Our maps, our directory of bike stops, and our route data all draw on OpenStreetMap, a world map built by volunteers. Thousands of mappers have surveyed British Columbia's roads, trails, campgrounds, and cafés so that anyone can use the results for free. We are grateful to every one of them.

This site is built with free, open source software. MapLibre GL and the OpenMapTiles schema render the interactive maps. PostgreSQL with the PostGIS extension and Valhalla power the cycling route network we build behind the scenes, and the Python tools osmium and Shapely do much of the data work. Thank you to the maintainers and contributors, and to the many other projects we rely on.
Corrections are a contribution too. If a listing is out of date, a trail is misdescribed, or a map is wrong, suggest a fix. We read every one, and we're thankful for each.
