The flagship of the West Kootenay bikepacking network: a nine-day, 600 km loop from Nelson through the Slocan Valley, the Arrow Lakes, and Grand Forks, crossing into Washington and returning along the Pend d'Oreille, with about 470 km on the BC side. The riding sticks to rail grades, gravel roads, and pavement, with lakes and rivers to cool off in nearly the whole way. The route crosses boundaries on purpose, telling this region's story from once-booming mining towns to the Sinixt, declared extinct by Canada in 1956 and recognized again by the Supreme Court in 2021.
