Nelson Museum Archives & Gallery
The Nelson Museum Archives & Gallery, established in 1902, is housed in a heritage post office and city hall building in Nelson and holds over 7,000 objects of regional historical significance, along with extensive photo, family history, and audiovisual archives. Unique draws include a Cold War bunker exhibit — one of 50 built across Canada — and a walking tour tracing filming locations from the movie Roxanne. Touring cyclists exploring the West Kootenays will find a rich cultural stop with rotating art and history exhibitions, a performance series in the building's historic turret, and an artist-in-residence program.
