La Casita
La Casita is a family-founded Mexican restaurant that has been a fixture in Vancouver's Gastown neighbourhood since 2004, tracing its roots to a Powell River original opened in 1990. The kitchen is known for hand-made Tex-Mex staples — from Steak Tampiquena and chiles rellenos to house-made horchata and margaritas — drawing a loyal local following. Its corner location at West Cordova and Abbott, steps from Waterfront Station and both Rogers Arena and BC Place, makes it a practical and lively refuelling stop for cyclists riding through downtown Vancouver.
This place is in the traditional territory of the Hul’qumi’num Treaty Group, S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsleil-Waututh), Skwxwú7mesh-ulh Temíx̱w (Squamish), Stz’uminus, šxʷməθkʷəy̓əmaɁɬ təməxʷ (Musqueam), and Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla.
