Machete
Machete is an ancestral Mexican restaurant in Vancouver's Strathcona neighbourhood, founded in late 2020 by a chef-pharmacobiologist who draws on pre-Hispanic culinary traditions and her family's recipes from the Nahua region of Jalisco. The menu revolves around the Mesoamerican triad of corn, beans, and squash, with tortillas made from freshly milled nixtamal and a cacao bar rooted in Nahua cultural heritage. Both dine-in and online order-for-pickup are available.
