Nelson the Seagull
Nelson the Seagull is a family-run cafe open since 2011, nestled in Gastown inside one of Vancouver's oldest heritage buildings, specializing in housemade sourdough bread, brunch, and exclusively African-origin coffees. The menu is shaped by South African roots — the name comes from a classic SA folk song — and leans on simple, high-quality ingredients anchored by signature sourdough loaves available whole in-store or online. A full espresso bar, rotating pastries, and a pantry of retail items round out the stop for cyclists passing through downtown Vancouver.
