A 134 km figure-eight linking Port McNeill and Port Alice on the North Island's rolling gravel, one of the island's most approachable bikepacking routes: no singletrack, gentle climbs, and lakeside rec-site camping all along. The country is karst, and the route passes the Devil's Bath, one of Canada's largest cenotes, and the Eternal Fountain's disappearing waterfall. A cafe in Port Alice marks halfway. The local campground reckons bikepackers are now a fifth of its guests; this is why.
