BC Grasslands Circuit

A three-day, 250 km loop through the fragile grassland ecosystems south of Kamloops: just one percent of BC's land base, yet home to nearly a third of its threatened species. The route rolls past sprawling historic ranches, including Canada's largest at Douglas Lake, and azure lakes teeming with waterfowl; bring binoculars, this is some of the best birdwatching in the province. Good gravel and quiet pavement, but the climbs are real, around 4,000 m in all, and water is scarce, so carry plenty.
