The Gabriola Museum is a community heritage institution operated by the Gabriola Historical and Museum Society, telling the stories of Gabriola Island's Indigenous Snuneymuxw people and settler communities through exhibits, archives, and events. Founded in 1986 and opened in 1995 on land donated by the McRae family, the museum also stewards 19 acres of conservation covenant land and features a gift shop with locally made goods. Cyclists arriving by BC Ferry from Nanaimo face a 1.2 km uphill ride from the Descanso Bay dock to reach the museum.
