A landmark pub on Sooke Road, the 17 Mile House has been welcoming travellers since 1894 — originally an inn and way-station seventeen miles from Victoria City Hall. The building retains its rustic, olde English character, complete with a crackling fireplace, bay windows overlooking a pub garden, and a dog-friendly backyard patio. It also holds a Guinness-awarded 'Best Guinness Pour in Town' distinction and hosts an annual outdoor music festival called Sookapalooza each July.
