Yaga Cafe Garden Co. is an award-winning, Indigenous community-owned business operated by the Gitmaxmak'ay Nisga'a Society in Seal Cove — 'Yaga' meaning 'down a hill' in Nisga'a, an apt description of its hillside location. The cafe serves coffee, tea, sandwiches, snacks, and salads harvested fresh from onsite hydroponics greenhouses, with an outdoor patio overlooking the cove. The business has operated continuously at this site since 1991 and is a recipient of the 2021 BC Indigenous Community-Owned Business of the Year award.
