The Nanaimo Harbourfront Branch of Vancouver Island Regional Library is a major civic library serving Nanaimo from its location on Diana Krall Plaza, with roots in the community stretching back to the 1860s. The current five-storey building has been at its harbourfront location since 1997 and stands on the unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. It offers a broad range of resources including a video game collection, meeting spaces, and skill-building programs, making it a substantial public hub in downtown Nanaimo.
