The Nanaimo North Branch of Vancouver Island Regional Library opened in July 2014 and has become one of the busiest branches in the VIRL system. Its 17,600 square foot facility houses over 60,000 items in a bright, open floor plan with large windows overlooking a natural environment of local conifers. Bookable meeting rooms with TV connectivity and a laptop bar make it a welcoming community hub along Hammond Bay Road in north Nanaimo.
