Summerland Ornamental Gardens

A historic 6-hectare ornamental garden originally established in 1914 as part of the Dominion Experimental Farm, now maintained by the volunteer-driven Friends of the Summerland Ornamental Gardens Society. Sitting directly on Highway 97 South — one of the Okanagan's primary cycling corridors — the gardens feature heritage trees, rose collections, and extensive xeriscape plantings, with a focus on water conservation and native pollinator habitat. Admission is by donation, making it an accessible stop for cyclists passing through the South Okanagan.
