Yaaguun G̱andlaay Conservancy protects the mouth of the Yakoun River and Yakoun Bay on Graham Island, Haida Gwaii, a place used since time immemorial by the Haida Nation for cultural, social, and spiritual purposes. The area contains 25 registered archaeological sites and hundreds of culturally modified trees, making it one of the most significant cultural landscapes in Haida Gwaii. Touring cyclists riding the roads near Port Clements may find this conservancy a meaningful detour into deeply rooted Haida history and salmon country.
