Nikkei Ramen-ya is a family-owned scratch ramen restaurant in Courtenay, founded by third-generation Japanese Canadian Greg Masuda, who hand-makes all noodles and broths from whole, locally sourced ingredients with no shortcuts. The restaurant holds the distinction of being BC's only Certified Living Wage Restaurant and rotates over forty ramen flavours weekly. It also produces a line of frozen ramen kits sold in 100+ BC grocery stores, and features Vancouver Island's largest selection of Japanese beers alongside a seasonal patio.
