Argo Cafe
Argo Cafe is a Vancouver institution established in 1954, reimagined in 2004 by Chef Denis Larouche and Kirby Wong from a classic greasy spoon into an eclectic diner spanning real beef burgers, turkey clubhouse, and sesame-crusted tuna salad through to sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce. Situated on Ontario Street in East Vancouver — a well-travelled cycling corridor — it pitches itself as 'Downtown food, at an East Van price,' offering rotating daily specials and house-made pies and soups to go.
This place is in the traditional territory of the Hul’qumi’num Treaty Group, S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsleil-Waututh), Skwxwú7mesh-ulh Temíx̱w (Squamish), Stz’uminus, šxʷməθkʷəy̓əmaɁɬ təməxʷ (Musqueam), and Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla.
