The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea is BC's only not-for-profit aquarium in Greater Victoria, situated on the Sidney waterfront on the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) people. The centre offers interactive self-guided exhibits, daily animal ambassador programs, and behind-the-scenes aquarist tours focused on the ecology of the 110,000 sq km Salish Sea bioregion. Touring cyclists riding the Saanich Peninsula or catching ferries from Sidney will find it a compelling cultural stop, recognized among the top attractions on Vancouver Island.
