Sayward Library Branch
The Sayward Branch of Vancouver Island Regional Library is a purpose-built rural facility that in December 2019 became the first community in the VIRL system to receive a new branch under the organization's rural prototype building model. The branch traces its roots to library service begun by the Sayward Women's Institute in 1964, making it a long-standing community anchor in this small Vancouver Island town. Touring cyclists passing through Sayward would find it a welcoming public institution with access to library resources and digital services.
