The Cultch
The Cultch is a landmark community arts hub in East Vancouver, presenting over 20 productions per year across three theatre spaces — the Historic Theatre, Vancity Culture Lab, and York Theatre — as well as a gallery and multi-use spaces. Operating since 1973, it programs contemporary work in theatre, dance, music, circus, and visual arts from local, national, and international artists, and underwent a $30 million refurbishment under its current Executive Director. A touring cyclist arriving in East Van will find a vibrant cultural destination known for diverse, risk-taking programming and strong community ties.
