St. Joseph's Catholic Church is the oldest church in Kamloops, built jointly by Catholic missionaries and the Tk'emlups te Secwepemc in the late 19th century on Tk'emlups band lands near the industrial park. Designated a Canadian heritage site, it has been fully renovated with artifacts restored, including a striking gold-gilded altar. For a touring cyclist with an interest in Indigenous and colonial history, it represents a rare surviving piece of early Kamloops cultural heritage.
