Cocoaro
Cocoaro Craft Chocolate is a small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate maker with a production kitchen and retail shop in New Westminster, founded by Margaret Inoue and rooted in an ethical sourcing model that traces cacao directly to fairly paid farmers. Each bar is hand-wrapped in traditional Japanese chiyogami paper, making them a striking local specialty to pick up on a ride through the lower mainland. The shop also appears at regional farmers markets in Port Moody and Coquitlam, with select bars stocked at a handful of Lower Mainland and Cariboo retailers.
