Shelter Waterfront is a long-running Tofino dining institution first opened in 2003, relocated in 2022 to a scenic waterfront home at the Tofino Resort and Marina after a fire destroyed the original location. The restaurant celebrates locally sourced West Coast ingredients — including fresh-shucked Vancouver Island oysters and locally caught salmon — served in an open-concept space with natural wood finishes and a patio overlooking the Tofino Inlet and Clayoquot Sound. It operates as a full-service café through dinner service and is a well-known gathering place for both locals and visitors passing through Tofino.
