Big Wheel Burger
Big Wheel Burger is Canada's first carbon neutral fast food restaurant, founded in 2011 and built around 100% fresh BC beef and ingredients sourced from Vancouver Island suppliers including Irene's Bakery, Berryman Farms, and Island Farms. The chain takes its sustainability mandate seriously — composting, carbon offsetting, and community garden initiatives are part of its operating model, not just marketing. For touring cyclists, it offers a practical, locally rooted refuelling stop with in-house plant-based burgers, a dedicated gluten-free fryer, and takeout and delivery options.
