Nickel's Bakery is a North Vancouver institution founded in 1961, specializing in authentic Eastern European sourdough rye bread and Polish donuts (Pączki) baked using traditional recipes in a stone-covered oven originally imported from Europe. The current Polish-Canadian owners have stewarded the bakery since 1996, keeping the founder's name and expanding offerings to include German and Polish breads, cheesecakes, and a selection of imported European canned and pickled goods.
