Founded in 1916, UBC Botanical Garden is Canada's oldest university botanical garden, spanning 20 hectares and home to more than 5,300 plant species on the western edge of Vancouver. A highlight for visitors is the GreenHeart TreeWalk, with suspended walkways and tree platforms high above the forest floor. The adjacent Nitobe Memorial Garden is considered one of the most authentic Japanese gardens outside Japan, making this a rich cultural and natural destination on any Vancouver cycling itinerary.
