Andreas Vogt Nature Reserve
Andreas Vogt Nature Reserve is a 30-hectare (74-acre) Salt Spring Island Conservancy property featuring 1.42 km of public hiking trails with good views to the south and west. The reserve encompasses Garry oak ecosystems and is managed for ecological restoration, with active invasive species control to protect ground-nesting birds and native habitat. Donated in 2002, the land has a colourful history as 'Goat Hill,' once home to a Victorian-era cheese-making operation.
