MAiiZ Tortilleria & Eatery is a Victoria restaurant and tortilleria founded by Chef Israel Alvarez Molina, formerly of the celebrated Pujol in Mexico City, who revived the traditional Mesoamerican Nixtamal process using certified organic corn grown in Armstrong, BC. The result is a menu of tacos, quesadillas, tamales, pozole, and chilaquiles built on fresh masa tortillas with a flavour and texture rarely found outside Mexico. The restaurant has earned multiple awards including YAM Producer of the Year 2022 and Tasting Victoria People's Choice for Favourite Artisanal Food or Beverage Product.
