Ripple Ridge Cabin
Ripple Ridge Cabin is a backcountry wilderness hut in the Kootenays, situated within the Ripple Ridge Recreation Site and managed by the volunteer Ripple Ridge Recreation Association in partnership with Recreation Sites and Trails BC. It sits about 3.2 km from the Kootenay Pass parking area and is one of two cabins (the other being Lightning Strike Cabin) located just 50 metres apart at high elevation. Reservation is required and summer access via the Maryland FSR is subject to snow until early July, making this a destination suited to self-sufficient adventure cyclists rather than casual touring.
This place is in the traditional territory of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, Ĩyãħé Nakón mąkóce (Stoney), Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis, and Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla.
