Matson Conservation Area
A protected nature conservation area in Esquimalt on the traditional territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples, managed by Habitat Acquisition Trust since 2004. The site was saved through a community-driven partnership among HAT, Nature Conservancy of Canada, and the Township of Esquimalt, and ongoing restoration work maintains its ecological integrity. A touring cyclist would find a quiet green space for a rest stop, though it is a conservation area rather than a developed park.
