The Island
The Island is a Canadian mountain fusion restaurant set in a historic log cabin on Gould's Island along the river in Golden, BC, established in 2009 by owners Aaron and Petra after years of world travel. Everything on the menu is made from scratch — twice-weekly sourdough, in-house pasta, locally raised lamb and bison, and herbs grown on-site each summer — creating a menu that reviewers call unlike anything else in the Rockies. A second-floor patio overlooks the river, and the building itself has lived many past lives as a newspaper office, heli-lodge, and bookstore.
This place is in the traditional territory of the Ĩyãħé Nakón mąkóce (Stoney), Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis, and Secwepemcúl’ecw (Secwépemc).
