Buried Bulldozer
The Buried Bulldozer — officially the Sunken Tractor — is a quirky historical curiosity within Burns Bog Conservation Area, operated by Metro Vancouver Regional Parks. In the 1970s a stolen construction tractor became mired in the peat while the thief fled on foot; by 1995 it had sunk so deep that a rescue attempt with a second tractor also failed, requiring helicopter extraction. The original tractor remains embedded in the bog today and is reachable via the main centre trail of the 2.5 km boardwalk loop.
