The Tunnel of Flags is a historic one-lane road tunnel in Greenwood, BC, dating to 1913, that was rediscovered above ground after a new road was built in 1993. To combat graffiti, then-mayor Arno Hennig launched a community project that resulted in 210 hand-painted country flags covering the exterior walls by 2000. It is a quirky and photogenic roadside stop in Canada's smallest city, easily accessible to passing cyclists on the Crowsnest Highway corridor.
