The Rickshaw
The Rickshaw Theatre is a celebrated live music venue in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, originally built in 1971 as the Shaw Theatre — part of the legendary Shaw Brothers' Hong Kong cinema empire. Reopened as a concert venue in 2009, it has won multiple 'Best Live Music Venue' awards from local outlets including the Georgia Straight (2018, 2019) and The Whammys (2016–2019). Touring cyclists can catch shows spanning punk, metal, hip hop, folk, and beyond, with full-service bars and a coat check on site.
