Kokanee Creek Provincial Park Visitor Centre
The visitor centre and nature centre at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park sits right on Highway 3A between Nelson and the Kootenay Lake ferry at Balfour, making it a natural stop for touring cyclists on this popular Kootenay route. The park features over a kilometre of sandy Kootenay Lake beach, old-growth cedar forest, a canyon with viewing platform, and a spawning channel where kokanee salmon run from mid-August to mid-September. The nature centre offers environmental education programs, a gift shop, and coffee during the summer season.
