Lytton Reaction Ferry
Free on-demand reaction ferry (current-propelled) operated by Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Nicola) Ltd. under contract to the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit, crossing the Fraser River about 2.4 km north of Lytton. Crossing takes about 5 minutes; runs on demand across a near-continuous string of service windows through the day and night, no reservation needed. BC's Ministry of Transportation and Transit treats all inland ferries as an extension of the provincial highway system, mandated to accommodate all legal road users, including cyclists — bikes and e-bikes both ride free and unboxed. Note: unlike some of BC's other reaction ferries, the province's page does not list a high-water closure for Lytton — worth a phone check regardless during freshet.
