National passenger rail. The Canadian runs Vancouver–Kamloops North–Jasper–Toronto; the Skeena runs Jasper–Prince George–Prince Rupert. Bikes travel as checked baggage for $25 per direction (all bike types, including e-bikes, folding, tandem, and recumbent), carried on the baggage-car rack where available, otherwise boxed ($20) or bagged ($5). Checked-baggage service is only offered at staffed stations: on The Canadian's BC segment that means Vancouver and Jasper, not Kamloops North. On the Skeena, confirm which stations can check a bike before you travel, as most stops are unstaffed flag stops. E-bike batteries must be disconnected on check-in. Call VIA (1-888-842-7245) to confirm baggage-car availability before planning a bike trip.
