Sternwheeler Craft Distillery is an award-winning small-batch operation in downtown Creston producing spirits exclusively from locally grown fruit — saskatoons, apples, and other Creston Valley produce — with no grains, nuts, or artificial additives. Founded in 2017 as Wynndel Craft Distilleries, it relocated to a converted heritage building on Canyon Street in 2024 and opened a Lounge Bar in early 2025 stocked entirely with local beers, wines, ciders, and its own spirits. The distillery has accumulated multiple Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition honours including several Best in Class and Gold medals, making it a notable destination in the Kootenays.
