Tendon Kohaku is an international Japanese chain specializing in tendon — hearty bowls of crispy tempura over rice — born from a collaboration between Japan's largest soba company Nadai Fujisoba and the Kings Know Group, with locations across Asia and Canada. The Burnaby Metrotown location uses a proprietary water-fryer technology and a custom sesame-vegetable oil blend intended to produce tempura that is less oily and extra crunchy. The menu also covers udon noodles and a range of Japanese sides including takoyaki, karaage, and chawanmushi.
