Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area is a 576-hectare mountain park overlooking Burrard Inlet and the Vancouver skyline, adjacent to Simon Fraser University. It features forested trails through old-growth deciduous and coniferous terrain, including the Velodrome 'Grind' trail popular with mountain bikers year-round. Wildlife such as black-tailed deer, bald eagles, and occasional black bears and cougars inhabit the creeks and forest slopes, offering a wild backcountry feel minutes from the city.
