Malaysian Hut
Malaysian Hut is a family-run East Malaysian restaurant in Surrey, BC, that has been serving authentic home-style cuisine from Miri, Sarawak since the mid-1990s. Chef Irene Chang imports specialty ingredients — including palm sugar and belacan — directly from Malaysia to produce dishes rarely found elsewhere in British Columbia, such as Pulut Pangang, Rojak, and Kuching Curry Laksa. The restaurant was voted Best Malaysian Food in Surrey by The Leader in 2011 and draws visitors from across western Canada who make it a must-stop during their travels.
