Okanagan Heritage Museum
Kelowna's flagship local history museum, the Okanagan Heritage Museum traces the geological formation of the Okanagan Valley, the culture of the syilx/Okanagan people, and the region's trading and settler history — including a recreated window into Kelowna's historic Chinatown. It also houses the Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame and hosts rotating exhibitions. As a self-described Biosphere committed entity, the museum actively encourages visitors to arrive by active transportation and is situated in downtown Kelowna adjacent to the Queensway Transit Exchange and near major cycling corridors.
This place is in the traditional territory of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, Nłeʔkepmx Tmíxʷ (Nlaka’pamux), Syilx (Okanagan), and Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla.
