McAbee Fossil Beds is a nationally significant paleontological heritage site in the Thompson-Nicola region, preserving Eocene-epoch fossils over 50 million years old on unceded Secwépemc territory. After a seven-year closure it is now operated by the St'uxwtews Pesuten Heritage Society in collaboration with Bonaparte First Nation, blending rigorous paleontological science with Indigenous cultural stewardship. Touring cyclists can join guided interpretive walks along 8 km of trails where fossils of plants, insects, fish, and birds are visible in their natural setting.
