Elbow Valley Cycle Club is a Calgary-based recreational cycling club, one of the largest in Western Canada with roughly 700 members. It organizes about 250 events a year, including road, gravel, and multi-day touring rides, several of which cross into British Columbia.
Elbow Valley Cycle Club's BC routes span road touring in the Kootenay Rockies, a long-distance gravel route through the Thompson-Okanagan, Kootenay Rockies, and Vancouver Coast and Mountains regions, and shorter day rides on Vancouver Island and in the Thompson-Okanagan. Most routes are paved road rides in the 30-120 km range, alongside one multi-day gravel route exceeding 1,300 km with 67% unpaved surface. Terrain ranges from rolling valley roads to sustained mountain climbing, including sections of the club's flagship Golden Triangle tour through the Rockies.
