We're building the provincial organization that makes British Columbia a world-class cycle touring destination: the marketing, standards, partnerships, and advocacy that turn great riding into a rural tourism economy.
BC has world-class riding and no connective tissue: no shared story told to the world, no quality standards, no data. Québec and New Zealand built this layer decades ago. The province has set a goal of doubling visitor spending by 2036, and cycle tourists deliver exactly the growth it's asking for: high-value visitors, in shoulder seasons, in rural communities.
One coherent cycle touring story for the world: routes on regional websites, a provincial trip planner, and the platforms riders actually use, kept current.
Difficulty ratings riders can trust, bike-friendly business accreditation, new route development, and education for operators.
Annual data on cycle tourism demand and gaps: numbers regions can take to their boards, funders, and hotel-tax reports.
An independent nonprofit society, grown out of organizations already working to make cycling and trails stronger in British Columbia: the BC Cycling Coalition, Trails BC, and Let's Go Biking. No resort, hotel chain, or tour operator among the founders. That independence lets us set standards riders can trust, and give government numbers it can rely on.
