Kamloops Heritage Railway
The Kamloops Heritage Railway Society stewards the #2141 'Spirit of Kamloops,' a historic 1912 Canadian Locomotive Company steam engine that is the sole surviving example of its class. The society is currently undertaking a major reactivation project in partnership with the City of Kamloops and CN Rail, with an ambitious vision of running steam-powered excursions along the Okanagan Subdivision between Kamloops and Vernon. For a touring cyclist, this could eventually be a remarkable heritage attraction on the Thompson-Okanagan corridor, but it is not currently operational.
