Miner's Cottage
The Coal Miner's Cottage is a municipally designated heritage site originally built by coal miner Frederick Rowbottom in the 1890s and now situated in Piper Park, Nanaimo. At just 360 square feet, it was once home to up to eight family members and is furnished with period artifacts representing life from 1914–1918. Programming and exhibits are managed by the Nanaimo Museum, making it an accessible stop for cyclists exploring Nanaimo's coal-mining history.
