Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre

Info · Park / Nature · Duncan (Vancouver Island)

A volunteer-operated, admit-by-donation nature interpretive centre perched at the edge of the Cowichan Estuary — a 400-hectare ecosystem and internationally designated Important Bird Area — in Hecate Park, Cowichan Bay. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits about the estuary, marine and bird life, and the Cowichan and Koksilah watersheds, including a live heron-rookery webcam. For touring cyclists passing through Cowichan Bay, it doubles as a tourist information hub and a quiet stop to learn about one of Vancouver Island's most ecologically significant coastal habitats.
