Sam's Garden (also referred to as the Sunken Garden) is a named feature within Dominion Brook Park, a 10-acre heritage arboretum and ornamental garden on the Saanich Peninsula created in 1913 by the Canadian Department of Agriculture. The park holds a remarkable collection of mature conifers and ornamental shrubs sourced from nurseries in Britain, France, Japan, and elsewhere, including specimens descended from seed collected in Western China by the renowned plant hunter Ernest 'Chinese' Wilson. Maintained by a volunteer society since 2001, the park is freely open to the public and offers guided tours by arrangement.
